What types of numbers can I use to spoof caller ID and SMS?

FOR CALLER ID SPOOFING:

You are able to enter in any telephone number comprising of 0 - 15 digits in length. However, some telephone providers are more restrictive than others when placing calls with their network and may override your intended caller ID to display "Unavailable" or "Out of Area". When this happens, try to use a number which appears more realistic. For example, if you are having trouble spoofing "123456," try "5551234567". If this does not work, try to use the telephone provider’s area code followed by the spoofed number like this; "604 (real area code) 1234567 (spoofed number)".

It is recommended that you do a test call to see if your telephone carrier will accept the number you wish to display. If you are having troubles getting the number to display, please e-mail [email protected] and include the area code you are calling from, the area code you would like to call, and the spoof display number you are trying to use.

FOR SMS MESSAGE SPOOFING:

You CAN NOT spoof SMS messages. Please do not sign up for SMS spoofing as that is not a service we offer. Refunds will not be given for users who do not read the FAQ or various descriptions of how our SMS works.

Why can I not call certain Toll free numbers?

The ability to call certain numbers has been restricted due to the possibility of fraud and illegal use of the system.

Should you require the ability to dial toll free numbers, you may contact [email protected] to request that a restriction be removed from your account. Please be advised that the removal of restrictions from accounts is done at the discretion of SpoofTel and you may not necessarily be granted access to the number you request to contact through the system.

Can I view a record of my call history or SMS history?

A record of your calls and each SMS sent is kept until you reload your account. Each time you add funds, your call history and SMS history are cleared. To view a record of your call or SMS history, log in to your account and click the “Account” tab at the top of your screen. One of the selections under this tab is “Call History” and another is “SMS History.”

Is there any way to tell what my real number is if I spoof someone?

No, the number that you choose to display is what will be shown on the receiver’s caller ID as well as the number that is provided if the receiver were to dial *69 (the command used to find out the last number that dialed your phone).

If there is a problem with the number you selected to display, or problem with your phone carrier that would interfere with the service, the number may appear differently from the number you selected, but it will still change your real number and display an alternate display number. This occurs on very rare occasions but may occur with some telephone carriers. If you would like to ensure that your telephone and service provider work with the SpoofTel service, you can place a test call using the Free Call feature (up to 3 test calls permitted).

What is spoofing?

The feature is intelligent enough to detect when you are able to record a message to the machine. If a human is detected as answering, your phone will ring and the call will proceed.

To locate and customize the feature, click on “Account” once you are logged in. Scroll down to the last section titled “Advanced Call Settings.” Within this section, you will see “AMD Playback File.” This is where you upload your file that you will be using as a message.
